More about our education services

About Education Business Futures

We work across Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire providing support to schools, colleges and businesses to develop and deliver quality work-related learning opportunities, including work experience and enterprise education, for young people. Our key focus is 14 – 19 year old learners but we also undertake projects and activities with primary schools.

Work-related learning is a statutory requirement for all 14-16 year olds. Schools must make provision for all learners to:

  • Learn about work, by providing opportunities to develop knowledge and understanding of the world of work and enterprise.
  • Learn for work, by developing key employability and enterprise skills.
  • Learn through work, by providing direct experiences of work.

EBF supports this provision by assisting schools and employers with:

  • Work experience placements
  • Delivering enterprise and employability activities
  • Mentoring for learners
  • Development opportunities for teaching staff and employers.

Work with schools and colleges around commissioning post-16 education, will be carried out by Futures Post-16 Commissioning team. The Futures Post-16 Commissioning team are ex-Learning and Skills Council staff who now work for the local authorities but operate under Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Futures company.
