About Apprenticeships
The National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) has end to end responsibility for Apprenticeships in England. Apprenticeships can make your organisation more effective, competent, productive and competitive by addressing your skills gaps directly, even in uncertain economic times.
Apprenticeships are designed to help young employees reach a high level of competency and performance. There are three levels of Apprenticeship, intermediate, advanced and higher Apprenticeship. We deal with primarily with intermediate apprenticeships but are happy to support employers who wish their apprentices to progress. For more information about Apprenticeships visit the national Apprenticeship website.
About Futures Apprenticeship Agency
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Futures runs its own Apprenticeship Training Agency (ATA), the Futures Apprenticeship Agency (FAA). The primary function of an ATA is to support employers who would like to take on an apprentice but due to economic circumstances are unable to do so.
The distinguishing element of the ATA model is that it is the ATA who employs the apprentice and places them with the host employer, who acts as a host. The ATA is therefore responsible for the apprentice’s contract of employment. The host employer pays the ATA a fee for the apprentice’s services; this fee is based on the wage agreed with the host employer and the ATA management fee.
Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Futures is a regulated, not for profit organisation.
