Getting started with Virtual Connexions Libraries
Making your virtual library a reality!
INTRODUCTION
Building a 'virtual library' might seem to be daunting!
However, many of you will already have elements of a virtual library in place with your existing 'careers/Connexions' libraries. This could include clear links to websites or provision of software packages.
So, to take your electronic information provision forward, you can either:
- START SMALL, taking a step-by-step, incremental approach to developing the e-provision for your students and staff, working towards a major, structured 'Careers/Connexions' zone.
...or:
- go for the 'BIG HIT', building a more developed, structured, integrated, user-friendly Careers/Connexions online zone or presence on your school or college Intranet, VLE or public website (handy for student and parent/carer access outside of school hours).
Starting small, asking your IT Manager to get some quick links to key online sites added to your Intranets and websites, for example, can literally take just minutes!
Embellishing this with program and site descriptions or graphical buttons can be the next small step.
